History
In 1969, a group of parents dedicated to excellence in education founded “Alexandria Academy”, beginning with 98 students in Grades 1–8 in Pineville. Just two years later, in 1971, the school became Alexandria Country Day School and moved to its current home on Bayou Rapides Road, where the entire campus was once housed in a single building. Over the past 57 years, ACDS has thoughtfully grown to include multiple classroom buildings serving students from PreK3 through Eighth Grade, along with an updated gymnasium, tennis courts, an outdoor classroom, a playground, a dining hall, and a media center that supports both technology and library resources.
Through every season of growth and change, Alexandria Country Day School has remained deeply committed to its founding vision of providing an exceptional, independent school education that inspires lifelong success. Today, that commitment is reflected in our mission to provide a challenging learning culture where all students become Creative, Innovative, Future Leaders, ensuring that each child is prepared not only for academic achievement, but for a meaningful and impactful future.
