Cocurricular Offerings

Country Day offers the opportunity for students to take cocurricular courses during the course of the school day on the main campus. Students may take private or group lessons each week. These daily offerings provide families greater flexibility and allow students to participate in multiple activities.

Music

Students in grades PreK4-Eighth are able to take private and group piano, guitar, and drum lessons. Music instruction helps students with language and math skills, encourages creativity, and improves hand-eye coordination and concentration. Theresa Thomason is the piano instructor. Denver Shoup provides guitar and drum lessons.

Tennis

Group tennis lessons are offered several times per week to students in grades PreK4-Eighth by USTA/USPTR Certified Pro Francisco Acuna and Assistant Pro Sarah Kegerreis. Students learn fundamental motor skills to prepare them for the development of groundstrokes, volleying, and serving to prepare for match play.

Theater

Country Day offers weekly acting and performance classes with Kody Walker. Drama courses cover history of theater, developing a character, techniques in movement for the actor, vocal production, education in stage combat, theatrical design and production, audition techniques, and the exploration of relationships between theater and core academic subject matter.
